Looking to volunteer on the response itself?
Organised disaster work goes through the Red Cross, not through us. Turning up unannounced at a shelter or fire line creates work for responders.
The Red Cross has also asked people not to donate physical goods such as water, blankets or clothing. Money and trained volunteers are what is needed.
